No. The backing is a non-abrasive PU and elastic net, not raw rubber, so there is no dye transfer onto light or perforated leather. That is the failure point on most protectors in this category.
The core is firm EPE foam, not soft cushioning, so it compresses under the base instead of adding slack. Install your car seat as normal and tighten fully, then confirm under one inch of movement at the belt path.
