No. Every part the water and coffee pass through — body, inner liner, spout, inner lid, spray tube and grounds chamber — is food-grade 304 stainless steel. The only plastic on the pot is the transparent viewing knob on top and the handle, neither of which sits in the brew path.

There's no scorching hotplate under a glass carafe. Once the 1,000W extraction finishes, the pot switches itself to keep-warm and only pulses back on if the coffee drops below 113°F (45°C) — so cup twelve pours hot instead of stewed.

No filters, ever — just ground coffee in the stainless chamber. Both the inner liner and the chamber are marked with matching scale lines, so you fill water to the line you want and coffee to the same number. The 1.8L pot brews anywhere from a couple of cups up to 12 (150ml each), and it works just as well for loose-leaf tea or plain hot water.
